Today we took the Solving Equations with Variables on Both Sides assessment (key, pdf). Check the portal for the results of your assessment, fill out your student checklist with your results, and make a plan for re-assessment (if necessary). As we talked about, don't just look at your grade on the assessment, but look at the comments - they will indicate what you did wrong and, looking at the key, you can practice and prepare for the re-assessment.

We spent a little time on how to graph an equation by making a table of values, and then explored graphing a real-world situation by making a table of values using a recursive routine (lesson, pdf).

Your homework for Wednesday is:
  1. Check the portal for the results of your assessment, fill out your student checklist with your results, and make a plan for retake (if necessary), including making an appointment.

  2. Complete steps 3 through 11 from the lesson (pdf). If you carefully complete the table and make the graph, I think you should be able to answer all the questions. If not, please come in for help on Tuesday (from me, from the Math Department, from the Study Center, etc.).

  3. Watch the Graphing Linear Equations by Using a Table video. Make sure you complete all the parts, including writing the self-check problems in your notebook. Remember, our assessment over this will be on Friday.
