Once again, an amazingly well-done opener (pdf). Today's lesson (pdf) was to learn about recursive sequences and finding patterns in number sequences, as well as learning a nice little feature of your graphing calculator.

Tonight's homework is:
  1. Prepare for the Solving Equations with Variables on Both Sides Assessment on Monday. There are a variety of ways to do that including, but not limited to: review the online pre-assessment; review your notebook and/or the openers and lessons posted on the blog; review the video, work some practice problems in your textbook or that you find online. You can, of course, also get help from me, another math teacher, a teacher in the Study Center, a peer tutor in the Study Center, or a parent, sibling or friend. Do whatever works best for you, but make sure you're prepared. The expectation is that you should all be able to do very well on this assessment on Monday.

  2. Next week is Homecoming Week. I really encourage you to participate. Dress up in whatever clothing is designated for each day (particularly your class colors on Friday), participate in the lunch time and assembly activities, and attend some athletic events and support your classmates. Things like Homecoming Week can be one of the best parts of high school - if you're willing to participate.
