Today we started with our usual - a brilliantly crafted opener (pdf). Then, instead of a lesson over new material, we had a "catch up" day (lesson, pdf) where we worked on both current and review problems to solidify our understanding.

Your homework for tonight is:
  1. Finish the last two sections of the worksheet (pdf) we did in class today (Graphing on a coordinate plane; Review). Look back over the two sections we did together and make sure you understand them. If you don't, please, please, please come in today or tomorrow and get some help.

  2. Complete the Solving Equations with Variables on Both Sides Online Pre-Assessment. As before, you do not need to try to type your work on screen. Instead, write the problems down in your notebook, work them out, then click on Check Your Work to see how you did. Make sure you then make a note on your Student Skills Checklist in the Self-Assess column for Variables on Both Sides. Our assessment over this will be on Monday, so if you need some help, please come in today or tomorrow.

  3. If you need help with anything, please make an appointment to come in and get that help (or see another math teacher in the math office, or visit the study center, or get help from a friend, parent or sibling - just do something to be proactive about increasing your understanding).
